Explaining errors

So … Where do I begin?

Private Info 2.1.2 was supposed to be my “great update” to fix certain issues and add better video support for both 3GS and iPhone 4′s Hd video as well as provide alot of performance improvements throughout the app.

Although that is technically all there in 2.1.2. Sadly, it’s been the biggest problem I’ve ever had with the app.

Apparently, support for 3.1.x was removed from my app without my knowledge. My app “Private info” is not the only app in the AppStore experiencing this. My only explanation I could come up with: When updating Xcode to the latest version, I deleted all the old versions- in turn deleting my 3.x supporting files, causing alot of unhappy users when they updated.

I have fixed it now, and apple has 2.1.3 waiting approval, and hopefully that happens soon.

I did alot of work to 2.1.3 to try and fix everything, and even completely reworked the photos section for a much smoother, cleaner and easier experience.

I hope you all enjoy the app once the update is approved and I apologize for the bad 2.1.2 update.

2010

Currently on my todo list for the next update to Private Info:

*Reduced memory footprint
*Increased Stability
*Replace background images and other images with custom drawn views for better performance and reduced memory usage
* Increased photo import resolution
*HD video importing/recording up to 10 minutes for iPhone 4
– Increased 3GS video import quality, also up o ten minutes
(the 10 minute limit is apples limit for apps)

- Features that are iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS specific are now hidden on devices that do not support them

Stuff I plan to add in the near future:

* wifi video/photo importing/sharing

I’m sure I’ll add more to this list as the app grows.

Private Info 2.0.2 Update

May 16
2010

An update was submitted this morning to fix a couple bugs that were reported and a few minor interface changes.

* Previous versions of Private Info.app would delete an item from the list if it had no text in the title. This has changed, nothing is auto-deleted now…

* Video Thumb Icon image has been slightly refined to better match iPhone OS style.

* Various Memory cleanups and minor bug fixes

- Apple still does not allow the 3G to select video from camera roll due to not having a hardware decoder. If they ever allow it (since we all know video still works just fine anyways) , it will be immediately added to the app.

- Still working on a good solution for backing up data // I’ll keep you posted.
